Samara Karoo Lodge

Karoo Lodge is a historic farmhouse-style lodge set within the vast Samara Karoo Reserve, offering a safari experience defined as much by landscape as by wildlife. The lodge retains its original character, with period details and a strong sense of heritage. Its setting feels expansive and serene, surrounded by open plains and distant mountains. The experience is peaceful, atmospheric, and deeply connected to place.

Unlike traditional safari destinations, Samara focuses on the revival of the Karoo ecosystem, bringing a different dimension to the experience. Game viewing is complemented by walking safaris and landscape exploration. The pace is slow and contemplative. Service is warm and personal, reflecting the lodge’s intimate scale. Karoo Lodge is ideal for travelers seeking space, quiet, and a more reflective safari.
