Nxai Pan National Camp
The only permanent camp in the Nxai Pan National Park
______
This Madkgadikgadi Salt Pans safari is ideal for witnessing the Zebra Migration, visiting Baines’ Baobabs, and engaging with the time-honoured Bushmen traditions.
Number of nights: 2 nights, maximising panoramas of the plains without compromising privacy, natural light floods into these airy rooms under thatch.
Nxai Pan Camp is the only camp in Nxai Pan National Park, a place famous for its seasonal zebra migration, ancient baobabs, and a stillness that allows you to hear your own heartbeat.
This is a stark, otherworldly expanse where gemsbok and springbok roam the dusty plains in the dry months, and elephants file past camp in a steady procession, drawn to the waterhole like clockwork. But the rains arrive, and a lush green wonderland erupts, teeming with thousands of zebras on Africa’s second-largest migration, followed closely by prowling predators.
Once upon a salt pan, this was the Superlake Makgadikgadi, an ancient inland sea that dried up thousands of years ago, leaving behind open grasslands, surreal salt flats, and stories written in sand. Take a trip with our desert guides and trackers to uncover them.
Rra Dinare Camp
Dinare Private Reserve
_____
Created in partnership with the Sankuyo Community and located near Moremi Game Reserve in the Okavango Delta.
Number of nights: 3 nights, sheltered by stands of riverine palms and hardwood trees, tents line the waterway and overlook prime Okavango scenery.
Rra Dinare is authentic, unpretentious, and full of heart — the kind of camp that sticks with you long after you’ve left the Delta dust behind.
Located just south of the Moremi Game Reserve, and containing critical dry-season watering points. This concession was once leased for controlled trophy hunting. In the early 2000s, the Botswana government embraced low-impact, high-value photographic safaris. The goal? To create long-term benefits for wildlife and people, replacing hunting income with more sustainable photographic safari operations.
Today, Rra Dinare stands as a model of community-conscious tourism. The camp is situated on the opposite side of the concession from Mma Dinare, offering a slightly different landscape for game viewing, with nearby woodlands that leopards love and seasonal water sources for migrating animals. You’ll game drive amid the large buffalo herds with the thrill of knowing that big cats are silently stalking them.
Lebala Camp
Kwando Private Reserve
_____
40 times larger than Manhattan. The Kwando Private Concession sits on a critical elephant migration route and is renowned for consistent predator sightings in the lush reaches of Botswana’s northern wetlands.
Number of nights: 3 nights, Each custom-designed suite has unique mesh walls for unobstructed views.
The name Lebala means ‘wide open space’ in Setswana, and it’s not just a place but a feeling: endless skies, golden floodplains, and that thrilling sense that you might be the one being watched.
Once the secret stomping ground of bushmen and early explorers, this is one of the wildest corners of the country. Tucked into a southern corner of the Kwando Private Concession (shared with only one other stay — Lagoon Camp), you have exclusive access to over 230,000 hectares of pristine wilderness. This is where the wild things roam (and occasionally nap in the shade). No fences, no crowds, no problem.
The rooms are a seamless extension of the landscape: wild, warm, and wonderfully in tune with the rhythms of the bush. Stretched along a shady leadwood island, each room is positioned for privacy and panoramic views and is built on a raised wooden platform with mesh windows that let the breeze (and bush sounds) roll right in. So you can watch and hear that herd of elephants rumble past your deck with all the nonchalance of a Monday morning commute.

Property Overview
Nxai Pan is located on the western edge of the fossil pan from which the camp takes its name. The camp faces east over the open grasslands of the pans. The biggest draw to Nxai Pan National Park are the zebras that migrate by the thousands to the area – the second largest land animal migration in Southern Africa.
The area is well known for large numbers of springbok and elephant and during the rainy season zebra migrate to the region. Giraffe and oryx are also often seen in the area in large herds with up to 30 in a group. These large herds attract many predators – lion, cheetah, jackal, spotted and brown hyena and sometimes the endangered wild dog and the secretive leopard.

Experience & Activities
As well as game drives, guests are able to enjoy an optional day trip to see the famous Baines’ Baobabs – truly majestic, sentinels standing tall on the edge of the salt pan. Nxai Pan is within a national park, and so there are some park regulations that must be followed. Because the area is ecologically sensitive, night drives and offroading are not permitted.
Guests enjoy nature walks and star gazing here, in addition to the game drives. The nature walks are led by one of the Bushmen trackers. It is a fascinating experience where you take a step towards learning and understanding how it is possible to survive in such a hostile environment – to get a glimpse into the way of life and beliefs of the original inhabitants of the Kalahari desert.
Accommodations – Suite
There are eight rooms which are linked to the main area by means of a slightly raised walkway, at night these are lit with lanterns to show you the way. The rooms are built from a light, specially selected material which keeps them warm in winter and cool in summer, a fan also helps circulate the breeze in those hotter months. The rooms are light and spacious. The main area of each room features double or twin beds, a seating area, and a small writing desk. The bathroom area has shelving and hanging space, a double sink, and inside and outside showers. There is a separate flush toilet.
Area Overview
Welcome to Nxai Pan National Park
The fossil pans of Nxai Pan offer spectacular, seasonal game-viewing in the rainy season when huge herds of zebra, wildebeest, springbok and gemsbok attract many predators, lion, cheetah and both brown and spotted hyena. Elephants also migrate here in the rains. One of the main focus points is the waterhole at the center of the pans, surrounded by a savannah of grassy plains and Acacias.
Nxai Pan was formed millions of years ago when a lake fed by the Okavango, Zambezi, and Chobe rivers became extinct and hardened into pans. What remains today in Nxai is a series of these pans mixed in with open grasslands and mopane woodland. In the south of Nxai Pan, Baines’ Baobabs comprise a clump of large baobab trees, memorialised in 1862 in a famous painting by Thomas Baines, a member of Livingstone’s expedition. These ancient trees eventually became part of the reserve in 1992, extending its size from 1,676 km2 (675 mi2) to 2,578 km2 (1,000 mi2).

Area Overview
Welcome to Okavango Delta
The Okavango Delta is the largest intact inland delta in the world, and is exceptionally rich in wildlife. Situated deep within the Kalahari Basin, the Delta is characterized by meandering deep water channels lined with papyrus reeds that open up into larger lagoons and islands; these in turn give way to seasonal floodplains and eventually large tracts of dry land where animals congregate. Fed by the Okavango River and rains from the highlands of Angola, the Delta can vary in size from 15,000 sq km (5,800 sq mi) during drier periods to a staggering 22,000 sq kms (8,500 sq mi) during wetter periods.
The game viewing depends on season, floodwaters and food availability but it is one of the most sought after wilderness destinations in the world. In addition to big game viewing, visitors come to experience the supreme tranquility and serenity of an untouched delta, and scenes of extraordinary natural beauty. It consistently produces very good predator action with considerable herds of ungulates and elephants.

The camp itself is comprised of nine custom designed tents (including the family tent), with unique mosquito net walls, allowing an unobstructed flow of cooling breezes and stunning views. Each spacious tent has its own viewing deck, bathroom, and luxurious double outside showers.
Welcome to Kwando Reserve
The Linyanti/Selinda/Kwando system is an area of over 2,600 sq km (1,000 sq mi) that juts out into the Chobe National Park to the eastern side, with the Okavango to the south. This is real African big game country, and during the dry season the permanent waters of both the Kwando and Linyanti Rivers serve as important migration points for wildlife from much of northern Botswana, including large herds of buffalo and elephant, wildebeest and zebra. The extensive Kwando, Selinda, and Linyanti concessions offer superb wildlife viewing and terrain to rival the physical beauty of the Okavango.
The swamps that fan out from the rivers carry the same magnificent natural history as the Okavango: picturesque channels, lagoons, papyrus stands and reedbeds. Riparian forest lines the waterways, giving rise to magnificent, towering trees. Virtually all naturally occurring antelope and predators can be seen in these concessions, depending, of course, on the season, and food and water availability. Over the years African hunting dogs have frequently denned in these concessions and lion prides have taken to predating on large herbivores that concentrate here.
